Pat gave me an image of Harold that I find myself returning to when I am feeling particularly blue and missing my father in law. She told me about the way he used to mow the lawn at their farm. There he was...if you can conjure up this image...pushing his manual lawn mower, in steel toed boots with heavy socks, his hard hat and his bright red underwear. To complete this ensemble he had tucked a fly swatter into the elastic band of his undies! While there may not be any photographic proof of this event on display at the celebration of his life I know that with his sense of humour, he'd be happy if that's the image we kept in mind while toasting him!
