Condolence From: Bonnie, Dave and Danae Hanes
Condolence: Dear Marie, Mike and Jennifer
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I will never forget "Constable Young" and all the fun we had together when we were young: in town, riding, at the farm and at the cottage. I truly respected and admired him. He was one in a million in my books.

Condolence From: Jeanne Young
Condolence: Dear Aunt Marie, Jennifer and Michael

I was very sad to hear from Joan that Uncle Doug had passed away. I have lots of great memories of the fun times we had up at the cottage, especially with Uncle Doug - snowmobiling, sailing, the tree fort, the dune buggy, the van that we all painted, and lots more. We will be thinking of you here in Australia.

Love from Jeanne, John, Joanna and Nicholas

Condolence: Dear Marie and family. Memories of Chandos and the friendship of you and Doug are very precious to us. Velma so appreciated your help with Henry and I always knew we had a friend across the lake. Our sympathy to you at this difficult time in life. Ida Mc Donald

Condolence From: The Beedham Family
Condolence: Marie and Family,

We are sorry to hear of your loss.

Doug will be remembered with fondness as the fine gentleman 'across the way' with the booming voice, always willing to provide guidance and assistance. His numerous contributions to the Township in general and Chandos Lake in particular were most appreciated.

Sincerely,

The Beedham Family

Condolence: Dear Marie:

Just a short not to say that we were saddened to hear of Doug's passing after the long and courageous battle. Since Doug and I (John) go back so many many years at Chandos Lake, it is particularly tough to lose that one person left that I could talk to about all the fond memories of the past and the lake that we remember as kids.

I remember when he use to work at the Tanner farm behind our cottages, at the local lodge; when I was 12, he took us skiing when he had a 20 horsepower Martin (that eventually wound up at the bottom of the lake!)He took me for my first (and only) ride on a motorcycle! When he started his construction company, he built me a dock that of course is still in heavy use.

I really wanted to go through the new Burleigh Road book with him because it brought back all kinds of memories, unfortunately, no one was home the last time I tried to visit and I later found out that he had been hospitalized.

I would dearly have loved to come to the Memorial Service but unfortunately, I am entering hospital this week for a hip replacement.

Our sympathy goes out to you and the family.

John and Helen
