Gerald Fredrick "Gerry"  O'Marra
O'MARRA: Gerald "Gerry" Fredrick
After a brief illness he passed away in his 72nd year on Saturday May 10, 2008, with his family at his side. Beloved husband of Netta O'Marra (nee Lawrenson) for 51 years. Loving father of Colleen (Alec) Newell, Jim (Sue), Tim (Brenda) and Carrie O'Marra. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Josh, Jackie, Sean, Sasha, Shaelyn, James and Ryan. Survived by his mother Sadie O'Marra, brothers Cecil, Lawrence, Art, Allan and sisters Fern, Jean and Edie. Predeceased by his father Lawrence. He was a long time employee of Indusmin/Unimin Canada and a well known strawberry/raspberry farmer at Halls Glen for the last 22 years. Gerry had a real passion for curling and was a long time member of the Lakefield Curling Club. He loved teaching young people the finer points of the game. Her never lost his competitive edge, even when it came to beating his friends. He will be forever missed. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the HENDREN FUNERAL HOME, Lakefield on Friday May 16, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the HENDREN CHAPEL on Saturday May 17, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Interment St. Mark's Cemetery, Warsaw. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Lakefield Curling Club as expressions of sympathy.
