Gordon Kerr of Lakefield in his 92nd year passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Gordon, a metallurgical engineer and an Olympic swimmer (1936), enjoyed swimming, canoeing, gardening, building, travelling, and music. He is much loved and will be missed by his wife Eleanor (Niven) and his children Richard of Dalkeith, ON and his wife Patricia; Carolyn Jongeward of Toronto and her husband David; and James of Caledon ON. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Carolyn, Sunny, Gordon, Roseanne, Allison, Crystal, Devon, and Gregory, and by great grandchildren Matthew, Benjamin and Simon. Also loved and missed by Gabrielle, his extended family and his friends. Predeceased by sisters Ruth and Doris and by his parents Gordon and Vivien Kerr. A memorial service will be held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Lakefield, on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment, Hillside Cemetery.
