Obituary for Dr. Steven Senior

Dr. Steven Senior
SENIOR: Dr. Steven

"What we once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us" Helen Keller

It is with deep sorrow we share the passing of a cherished husband and father and a very valued member of our community.

Dr. Steve Senior passed away suddenly in Tennessee on Monday March 11, 2013 on the eve of his 65th birthday. Beloved husband, friend and partner of 37 years to wife Colleen (nee Walsh), passionately devoted father to Stefanie (Rob Keen), Tristan (Sarah Senior) and Courtney (Cam Lillico); predeceased by son Talor. Dear son of Bea Sabourin (George) and brother of Janice Chinkiwsky (George). Steve is predeceased by his father Frank.

Steve will also be lovingly remembered by mother-in-law Cathy Walsh (late Peter Walsh), brother-in-law Philip Walsh (Pat), sisters-in-law Helen Walsh, Joan Robinson (Keith), Anne Walsh (Dave Rieger), Sheila Walsh (Greg McDonald) and nieces and nephews.

Steve was a dedicated family physician and his legacy of serving his community will always be remembered. He served as Medical Director of Lakefield Extendicare and assisted many others through volunteer work on various boards and organizations. Steve was particularly proud of his contribution to the development of basketball programs in Peterborough, and his many years as a basketball coach.
