Obituary for Shirley Mae Ritchie (Grierson)

RITCHIE: Shirley Mae
Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, after a brief illness at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday February 28, 2013. Shirley Ritchie of Bridgenorth, formerly of Kingston and Ottawa (Hazeldean), was in her 68th year. Shirley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University in 1967 and from Teacher's College in (Toronto) in 1968. She will be remembered for her enjoyment of teaching, especially primary aged children. Loving wife of the late Larry Ritchie (2010). Shirley will be sadly missed by her daughters Heather Grieve (Geoff) and Alison Ritchie, all of Bridgenorth. Adoring and special Grandma of Duncan and Andrew. Also missed by her sisters Faye Shillington (Dave) of Manotick, Carol Bennett (Bart) of Kanata, and several loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Alf & Ethel Grierson. A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Saturday March 9, 2013 at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
