Norman Theodore Wheldon  Bell
BELL: Norman T.W. (C.A. ret.)
On Friday February 8, 2013 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre's Palliative Care Unit, in his 75th year, Norman peacefully slipped away with dignity, surrounded by his loving family. Norman was born in Redcar, Yorkshire, England on March 22, 1938. He was a partner at Durwood, Jones & Barkwell, Chartered Accountants in St. Catharines, Ontario. He retired to the cottage in Lakefield in 1991. He will be forever missed by Margaret (Richardson) with whom he shared 51 wonderful years of marriage, by his two daughters Susan Bell Gastle (James) and Christine Tibbles (Peter) who will miss their number one fan. He was the proud Gaga of Alex, Victoria, Nicole, Joe & Gracie. He was the beloved son of Mary (Lynas Bell) Reed and the late Reginald Bell and stepfather Cmdr. Robert Reed. He will be missed by his Uncle Bug, Theodore Lynas (Lenor) of Knoxville, Tennessee, sister-in-law Anne Whittington (the late Clarke), nephew Allan Whittington (Marion) and his great niece Emma, all of Peterborough. The family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to the exceptional nursing staff of P.R.H.C.’s Palliative Care Unit and particularly Dr. Beamish, Dr. Vlasschaert and Dr. Binette for their outstanding care. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Tuesday February 12, 2013 from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at Lakefield United Church on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Warren Vollmer officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. Memorial donations may be made in Norman’s memory to the P.R.H.C. Foundation for Palliative Care Unit or the Lakefield United Church.
