Passed away peacefully at the P.R.H.C. on Tuesday September 25, 2012. Walter Tedford of Douro in his 88th year. Walter was the Charter President of the Warsaw Lions Club. He was a retired employee of Ontario Hydro – Darlington and will be remembered by many for his years of farming and carpentry in the area. Loving husband of the late Joyce (Freeburn) (1998). Loved and missed by his daughter Marie and her husband Allan Powell of Mission, B.C., and son Barry Tedford of Douro. Survived by his sister Pearl Lloyd (the Late Earl), brother Rodger Tedford (Marilyn), sister-in-law Dora Tedford-Lush, several nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his sisters Helen, Beatrice (Oswald Little), Bertha (Roy Duff), Mary, Olive, Zelda and Thelma (Ken Ward), and brothers Roland, Maxwell (Anne), Steward (Ena) and Russell. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Monday October 1, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday October 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment Warsaw Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Warsaw Town Hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
