Passed away peacefully at Lakefield Extendicare with family by his side on Monday March 12, 2012. Tom Atkinson, formerly of Seaforth Crescent, Lakefield in his 90th year. Loving husband of the late Grace "Scotty" (nee Gemmell). Dear father of John and his wife Sandra of Lakefield, Linda and her husband Les Unrau of Peterborough and Barbara and her husband Rudy Essegern of Brantford. Dear brother of Russell and his wife Elizabeth of Shreveport, Louisiana and brother-in-law of Patricia of South Wales, N.Y. Survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Richard and Bessie Atkinson and brother George. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Thursday March 15, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 77 Lakefield Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 6:30 PM. A funeral service will be held from the Lakefield United Church, Regent St., Lakefield on Friday March 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Warren Vollmer officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. Interment Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Peterborough.
